Press Releases and Media Information for Kyero.com

High on the shopping list for most Spanish property buyers is a location with easy access from an international airport. According to Kyero.com, the close proximity of a property to an international airport, especially those serviced by budget airlines, is more important than being situated right on the coast, having great weather or bargain property prices.

Summarising hundreds of thousands of visitor actions on Kyero.com, their 'Hot Properties' page ranks Muro de Alcoy in Alicante province as the most popular town in Spain for foreign buyers. Muro de Alcoy, situated over 30km inland from Benidorm on Spain's south east coast, has seen impressive house price growth over the past two years (over 22% per annum) and property in the town is now priced close to the national average of €247,000. The weather is good (but there's better elsewhere in Spain), it is 34km from the Costa Valencia and less than 1 hour's drive from Alicante airport with direct budget flights to the UK.

The town of Adra in Almeria province is second on the Kyero.com 'Top 10 Towns' list. Adra is the western most coastal town of Almeria offering year-round warm weather as well as bargain property prices, 43% lower than the national average - all within 1 hour's drive of Almeria international airport, which combine to make the town highly attractive.

Tortosa in Tarragona province, north east Spain, rounds out the Kyero.com top three. It's within an hour of Reuss airport, to the south of Barcelona and only 15km to the coast. It also offers bargain house prices 40% below the national average.

In comparison, however, the town of Cortes de Baza in Granada despite offering property priced an incredible 150% cheaper than the national average is located 140km from the nearest international airport (Almeria / Granada) which moves this town down to fourth position.

It seems that regardless of the weather, average house prices and access to the coast, the difference between being the number 1 destination in Spain and number 4 is keeping the journey time to and from the airport under an hour.

Kyero.com lists 90,000 properties for sale and to rent from 900 estate agents throughout Spain. Hundreds of thousands of visitor activities to the site are summarized each day and used to rank hot properties and hidden treasures in Spain.

September 14th, at the 2007 International Property Awards, a judging panel of 26 industry figures unanimously voted Kyero.com the best property portal in Spain.

Chairman of the judging panel, Eric Pickles MP, opened by saying “This year, following a rise in the number of entrants and an impressive increase in quality, competition was exceptionally fierce and the judging very close.”

The presentation dinner was attended by 350 representatives from 57 companies, each nominated for an award in their particular field of expertise. Dan McClean, Director of CNBC Europe, sponsors of The International Property Awards, commented “The winners of this year’s awards represent the leaders in the property industry.”

Martin Dell, Managing Director of Kyero.com accepting the award on behalf of the staff of Kyero Media, commented “I am delighted that the hard work and dedication of every member of the Kyero.com team has been independently recognised and rewarded. Since 2003, each one of them has worked unstintingly to make the task of finding a property in Spain as simple and intuitive as possible.”

Awarded the highest accolade of five stars, Kyero.com was automatically entered for an even higher level of recognition - Best International Property Portal.

Nominated alongside Daft.ie and Rightmove.co.uk - the largest property portals in Ireland and England respectively - Kyero.com faces formidable competition at the awards ceremony in Las Vegas on November 16th 2007.

According to the sponsors of the Grand Gala in Las Vegas, although only one company will be presented with the award of Best International Property Portal, all companies are considered world-class by virtue of their participation at this level.

Learning of the nomination, Martin Dell commented “We faced stiff competition in this year’s award for Best Spanish Property Portal - but this raises the level of competition to a new high. Both Rightmove and Daft are the established leaders in their own countries and we’re honoured to be competing with them as equals. Whether or not we win in Las Vegas, we’re very proud to have been nominated”.

Kyero.com features 90,000 Spanish properties from 700 estate agents throughout Spain. Founded in 2003 and based in Almuñecar in the south of Spain, the company is passionate about improving the experience of searching for overseas property.
